What Does The Bible Say About Success And Hard Work

Bible Say About Success And Hard Work

We all are created by the almighty God who has made us to fulfill his plan through us. Our life on this earth is not by an accident but it has some specific reason.

There are so many people who often ask the reason for their existence but they fail to get the truth. The truth is revealed only in the word of God where we can know all the details of man’s duty and work.

As we are living on this earth, we have to work hard in order to survive and success will follow us while we will do the hard work and live a righteous life. To be successful we need to rely on God’s word as it leads us to reach the goal of our life. Another important element that is also needed to be successful is hard work.

Success needs hard work. It is important for the believers to be well aware of the facts of how to be successful in life by doing the hard work. Let us see what the Lord says about it.

Do Your Works Happily For The Lord

God is in control of everything and he leads us by His mighty hands. This truth should be always in our minds and it must motivate us to do good works even when we don’t see anything good. The Lord says he is the rewarder of our works and it should be noted that our works are not for men but for God. Thus we are to work happily and pleasingly to be blessed.

Colossians 3:23 “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;”

2 Chronicles 15:7 “Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded.”

Ecclesiastes 9:10 “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.”

Those Who Work Diligently Will Be Satisfied

Everyone sets a goal in their lives but very few reach their destination. The problem is laziness that makes most unreached to their goal. They desire many things in their hearts but they never get their expected things due to their laziness. On the other hand, people who work diligently, get the taste of success.

Proverbs 13:4 “The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.”

Proverbs 10:4 “He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.”

Proverbs 12:11 “He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding.”

Proverbs 12:24 “The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.”

The One Who Is Unwilling To Work Should Not Eat

There are many people around us whom we see living a jobless life and dealing with unnecessary things. They are not worthy to eat if they don’t work. Paul has told these words to the believers who were lazy to work and kept themselves busy with others’ lives. God has given us the opportunity to work so we must work hard and support others who are unable to work.

2 Thessalonians 3:10-12 “For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies. Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.”

Proverbs 14:23 “In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.”

Work Honestly So You May Have Lack Of Nothing

To be the true follower of Jesus Christ we should live a life of hard work. And honesty must be there in our works. As the Lord is holy, holiness must be reflected in every aspect of our life. The Lord wants his children to work hard to earn money and they will have no lack.

1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 “And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.”

Wisdom Is Needed to Be Successful

Wisdom is badly needed in the life of a believer. All our equipment may not support us in our works but God’s guidance and wisdom will help us to experience the taste of success.

Ecclesiastes 10:10 “If the iron be blunt, and he do not whet the edge, then must he put to more strength: but wisdom is profitable to direct.”

Let Us Seek Wisdom From The Lord  As He Gives

The Lord has promised us to share his wisdom with those who will seek from him. He loves us and will help us to overcome the trials and difficulties that we usually face in our lives. Unconditionally he will give us wisdom that is truly important for the works that we do.

James 1:5 “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”

Inform Your Works To The Lord

We do not know what the future holds so we should commit our works and plans to God first. We should pray continuously before beginning any work. According to the foreknowledge, God will guide us to start the work. By doing so we will really experience God’s presence and it will bring us closer to him.

Proverbs 16:3 “Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.”

Psalm 37:5 “Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him, and he shall bring it to pass.”

Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

Do Everything In The Name Of Jesus

We are commanded to do everything in the name of Jesus as there is blessing and power that exist in his name which the Lord revealed at this last age. We are to be wise in our works because God wants to involve himself in our works and we need to take him along with our works to please him.

We can do it alone but that will not make us successful people in the end. Our works should be for the glory of God. The work that we do must be accepted before the Lord and it will bless our family when we satisfy him.

Colossians 3:17 “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.”

1 Corinthians 10:31 “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.”

Psalm 90:17 “And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.”

Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
