In today’s time, we find so many churches around us but we don’t get satisfaction when we attend their services. Sometimes we get bored even in our churches where we are a member. In such a situation, we feel like leaving the church. But so many thoughts come upon us and make us worry to leave the church.

If we really want to have eternal life we must open our eyes and read the scripture as it has the power to direct us. Along with scripture reading, we need to seek God to guide us and it will be so just like Cornelius the Roman centurion who used to pray and God sent his people to direct him to the right way. This article will help us to know what to do and when to leave the church that does not make us content.

Good Reasons To Leave A Church

The Lord Jesus has called us to be different from the world. Our works and way of living must not be the same as the people who have not received Jesus. In Jesus, we come to know the value of our life, sin, salvation, and what will happen in the future too.

The church that we attend must follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. If any teaching seems to come from human tradition and is not inspired by the Spirit of God then we should not stay there.

The Bible says whose name will be found on the book of life will be entered in heaven (Revelation 20:15). We need to work hard as long as we are here, we should seek God and his teachings to obey. If we fail to fulfill his scripture then we have to pay the cost in hell.

There are a few guidelines that we need to follow and when the church does not walk in accordance with the scripture we must leave the congregation in order to save our soul.

Jesus Established The Church On This Earth

Matthew 16:18 “And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”

In the Old Testament, God dealt with the nation Israel but he had the plan for the entire nation. He promised Abraham that one day the whole family of the earth will be blessed by his seed. And the function of the church was not revealed to the Old Testament prophets.

But Jesus brought it in the light and he gave authority to Peter to began the journey of Chruch after his resurrection. And we see that on the day of Pentecost church started its journey.

So, we must pay heed to what Jesus says and if any church does not teach us to follow Jesus then we must read the scripture with the help of the Holy Spirit. It is obvious that God will help us to make the right decision.

Church Should Obey Jesus

Ephesians 5:23 “For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.”

Every church that does not put Christ first is not based on scripture. In that case, we are to be wise because if they do not establish according to the teachings of Christ then We must forsake that fellowship.

Church Should Follow The Sound Doctrine

Titus 1:9 “Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.”

Titus 2:1 “But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine.”

2 Timothy 4:3 “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;”

There are so many churches are present in this world but they fail to preach what Jesus exactly tells his disciples to teach. Many of them are teaching what Jesus and his disciples did not practice or teach.

We are to follow the scripture and this will guide us what Jesus says in his holy words. After the death of Jesus’s disciples, many false teachings came to us. But we are too aware of them so we can gain the true teachings of Jesus Christ which have the power to protect us.

We need to meditate upon the scripture and it will lead us to the truth. If we blindly believe any leader then we will also be deceived and lose our salvation. Jesus will judge us according to his words not according to what churches have given us the ways to follow.

Is It A Sin To Leave The Catholic Church

1 John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.”

Disobeying the word of God makes us commit sin. We must know that if we walk what God tells us not to do then we actually break God’s righteousness and we become sinners in his sight.

If any church does not follow what Jesus says then we must immediately leave that church and we are to join a church that follows the entire Bible.

We can ask which church should we follow? The answer is the church that keeps harmony with the sixty-six books of the bible and the church must be guided by the Holy Spirit.

To have the depth knowledge about the church we need to read the book of Acts which tells us how the first Church began its journey and how the Holy Spirit came upon the believers and they experienced the mighty presence of God.

Afterward, the disciples realized the truth and they have received the power from above which Jesus told them earlier before his ascension to heaven (Acts1:8).

Any Church that does not agree with the teachings of Jesus and teaches its believers to live a life that the disciples lived and how they worked together with the missionary journeys then we must know that church is not based on the direction of the Holy Spirit.

When we come near to God with our appeal, the Lord also comes near to us and he loves to listen to our prayers. If we diligently ask God to connect us with the right church where we will learn all the words of Jesus and be able to live the life that pleases God.
