Life without Jesus is incomplete as he is the source of our lives. In him, we get the knowledge of life that makes us wise and we determine our ways based on his words.
It is impossible to know the dire consequences of sin that man commits due to the sin nature, inherited from Adam. Our destination is hell as we are all sinners (Romans 3:23).
Jesus ascended from heaven to make us aware of the effects of sin as it separates us from the Lord and leads us towards eternal death. Many times Jesus warns us to walk in holiness because there is hell where all the ungodly men and fallen angels will be gathered at the end of this world.
What Is Hell
Hell is a place of eternal torment. The Lord is gracious and his intention is not to send his creation into that place but his righteousness and holiness make him be free from sins. Hell is a place where the everlasting fire will reign and those who reject Christ and all the fallen angels will be inherited that place.
God’s wrath will be demonstrated upon them who will be cast into that lake of fire. Everlasting punishment will continue in the lives of those fallen angels and those who reject Christ and who do not follow Christ’s words completely here on this earth.
Is Hell For All Eternity
The scripture says righteous and unrighteous both will be resurrected (Acts24:15) and they will get everlasting life, some in heaven and some will be in hell. It is very true that hell is real and God will judge everyone according to their works.
There is no specific time mentioned in the bible but it says hell is for everlasting. There will be punishment and everyone will enter with the knowledge of the works that they have done on this earth.
Jesus came on this earth to redeem us from that everlasting punishment. He was suffered and died on the cross to save the entire mankind from that everlasting destination where everyone will cry and suffer due to the fire that will be burning in that place. Let us see what Jesus talks about hell.
Keep Yourself Holy To Get Rid Of Hell
Jesus has already warned us through his words about the deadliness of hell. He aware us to be serious concerning sin as it leads us to death in hell. We must listen to him as he came from above and he is completely different from other spiritual leaders.
If we pay heed to his teaches then we will surely save our precious souls from the upcoming God’s wrath that will be revealed in hell.
In our family and relationship if some of our dear ones make us follow their sinful ways then we must forsake them as Jesus commanded us to stay far from them to be free from the everlasting punishment of hell.
Matthew 5:29-30 “If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.”
The Broad Way Leads To Hell
Our earthly lives are so precious in the sight of God as he will judge us according to the works that we have been doing. Jesus says there are two ways in this world, one is wide and the other one is narrow but most of the people are following the wide gate that provides joy, happiness on this earth.
But the narrow gate does not make happy his people rather it makes them know God’s knowledge and aware of the blessings of God’s love and grace.
Jesus says the wide gate offers broadway which means all kinds of sinful works that people are doing here will be suffering at the end in hell and they will have no ways to overcome that punishment.
Matthew 7:13-14 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”
Unrighteous Will Be Thrown Into Hell
Our lives are not in our hands. Though we may say it’s my life yet we have no power to choose our eternal destination. We have the freedom to live here on this earth.
Jesus makes us think about our permanent dwelling place where we all will be inherited in the days to come. Jesus says those who will not walk in his teachings and will not bear good fruits which are the fruit of Spirits such as love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23) will be thrown into the eternal fire.
We have very few days here on this temporal earth so we must change our minds and need to repent for our sins so we may live according to God’s righteousness to be free from that eternal punishment.
Matthew 7:19 “Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.”
Jesus Says Hell As Outer Darkness
Hell is a real place where sons of the Kingdom means the fallen angels who left the Lord and lost their glorious position will be cast. God’s grace is for those who obey him and put Him first in their lives. He will show his cruelty to them in that lake of fire.
Jesus also mentions what will actually take place in hell. He says that there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. This makes us clear that hell is not a place where its inhabitants will enjoy rather they will be suffering and as a result of their suffering is weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Matthew 8:12 “But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
Furnace Of Fire
At the end of this age, Jesus will come again on this earth and he will separate his people from the unrighteous. His grace will last until his second coming but at his coming there will be no more forgiveness.
He will send those who disobey him and did not follow him to hell. His judgment will be based upon his righteousness. And unrighteous will enter into that hell where everyone will be weeping due to the punishment of the Lord.
Matthew 13:40-42 “Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age. The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”
Sinners Will Inherit Hell
Jesus gave a nice parable where he says the kingdom of God is like a dragnet when it will be full the angels will come and separate the righteous from the sinners.
Sinners will be cast into hell where they will never find God’s grace and suffer for their disobedience. Through his parable, Jesus has depicted the scenery that will happen in the last days.
It is true that at the end of this age there will be God’s judgment so we must live very carefully as hell is prepared for the unrighteous.
Matthew 13:47-50 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a dragnet that was cast into the sea and gathered some of every kind, which, when it was full, they drew to shore; and they sat down and gathered the good into vessels, but threw the bad away. So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come forth, separate the wicked from among the just, and cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”
Unrighteous Will Inherit Hell
If we serve people who are in trouble such as many who are suffering for their shelter, food, and clothes. We need to help them so they can be free from their burdens. Even those who are suffering in prisons need to support them. Our works will help us to be in God’s Kingdom.
On the other hand, believers who will live for only their own will be thrown into the lake of fire. So we are to be serious to enter into God’s kingdom. There will be no more second chance to get rid of that everlasting place.
Matthew 25:46 “And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
God Has The Power To Send Sinners Hell
We must not fear the people of this earth. Though we may be afraid of them yet we need to know that they are unable to deliver our souls to heaven.
One day they will kneel down before the Lord Jesus as he is the supreme God. No one will snatch the righteous from the hand of God.
Jesus says his disciples not to fear the Pharisees who threatened Jesus as he claimed his divinity and made himself equal to the father. Jesus told his beloved disciples that only God has the power to send sinners into the eternal lake of fire.
Luke 12:5 “But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has power to cast into hell; yes, I say to you, fear Him!”
The Rich Man And Lazarus
The parable of the rich man and Lazarus by Jesus warns us to be careful about hell. Here, Jesus mentions this story where the rich man had no thought for the poor and he enjoyed his life on this earth. His indifference towards Lazarus led him to hell where he got the punishment from the Lord.
But the scenery of the Lazrus was different as he was in heaven after his death. Though Lazarus had a miserable life on this earth yet the Lord gave him a new life that was full of joy and happiness.
Later on, we see how the rich man begged the Lord to give him little water but he has not received a drop of water as there is a gap between heaven and hell. He also asked the Lord to tell his brothers who are living their lives on earth to be conscious about hell. But the Lord refused them as they have prophets who are enough for them to preach the truth (Luke 16:19-31).
