What Does Jesus  Christ Say About Forgiveness In The Bible

Jesus Say About Forgiveness

We are the mere human being who possesses the sinful nature that we derived from Adam And Eve. Outwardly we may present ourselves humbly and honestly yet we are unable to control our emotions over whom we do not like. We find our weakness in forgiving others.

Though we can easily love a person whom we don’t know earlier but we are not capable to forgive and forget those who hurt us. Here, we need Jesus to shape our hearts as he alone can transform our hearts and help us to forgive others even our enemies too.

Jesus’ words are entirely based on forgiveness where he teaches us to forgive those who seek it. So we need to prepare our hearts in order to receive the words of Jesus which will ultimately help us to be like him to forgive others.

What Does Jesus Say About Asking For Forgiveness

If we walk according to the will of flesh then we will definitely experience God’s anger in our lives. But we must be free from such works of the flesh. Here Jesus asks us to focus on him and learn from him to grow spiritually.

Jesus gave two commandments where he says to love God first and the next is to love our neighbor as we love our family members. When we fulfill these two steps then we have the ability to ask forgiveness from the Lord when we appear before him. If we commit any sins then we must repent and seek God’s forgiveness (Luke 13:3)

God loves to hear our prayer and he forgives us when we constantly walk with him in his fellowship.

Another thing we must forgive others who hurt us. As Jesus says to love our neighbors so we must forgive them In order to be forgiven (Matthew 6:14). If anyone asks forgiveness then we have to welcome him and embrace him as the Lord teaches us to forgive.

God will judge each of us according to his wisdom and righteousness. we are to be free from judging others rather we need to forgive them so we can avoid condemnation. Our duty is to forgive people and this will make one love another too (Luke 6:37)

The love of Jesus Christ must be shown through our forgiveness to others. When our brothers harm us and do anything wrong against us, we need to forgive them as the Lord commanded us to do so (Luke 17:3).

What Did Jesus Say About Forgiving One Another

Jesus commanded his disciples to love one another. As he loves them so they are to love each other. This means it already tells us to forgive one another. We find that there was unity among the disciples of Jesus. They had a good relationship among them (John 13:34-35).

The scripture says love covers all inequities and does not keep the records of sins (1 Corinthians 13). In Jesus, we get to know what we should do and what we must give up in order to walk with our creator who has made us with a purpose.

Jesus says we must have the child-like heart which forgives and forgets. This inspires us to follow the new man whom God desires us to be. All our evil works needed to be separated from us as we have a hope of eternal life.

What Did Jesus Say About Forgiveness On The Cross

The worst time that Jesus ever spent on this earth while he was on the cross. He was going through severe pain and everyone was mocking and blaming him as he claimed himself the son of God.

Though he was suffered terrible pain yet he did not forget to ask forgiveness for those who hurt him and gave him the death sentence on the cross. Jesus showed them that he is the Messiah for the world and came to save man from sins.

They failed to understand him and as a result of their stupidity, they nailed Jesus and killed him. But Jesus did not utter a curse to them even when he was in his agony (Luke 23:34-46).

Jesus gave a lesson to us on how to treat the people of this world who are not walking with him or who are still in darkness. We should seek forgiveness for them to the Lord and we should not curse them rather we need to pray for them when they persecute us.

What Sin Did Jesus Say Shall Not Be Forgiven

All of our sins shall be forgiven if we ask forgiveness from the Lord. But there is a particular sin that is not to be forgiven.

Jesus has revealed the Father through his works and words. He says what he speaks and does actually Father works in him. To understand why Jesus says not to blaspheme against the Holy Spirit we need to know the divinity and humanity of Jesus. From humanity, Jesus was just a man like us which the bible says is the son of God but his spirit reveals his divinity. From his divinity, he is the father which is the Spirit of God.

So when we speak any words against the son of man that actually means we are talking against the human body where the Spirit of God dwelt for a specific period of time. But if we speak anything against the Holy Spirit that means we are talking against the father. So that sins will not be forgiven. But saying against the Son of man will be forgiven.

Matthew 12:32 “And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.”

What Does The Bible Say About Forgive 70 Times 7

Peter the beloved disciple of Jesus once asked this question when someone does anything wrong to us how often should we forgive him. Jesus answered him to forgive until seventy times seven,  this means he is actually saying to forgive continuously.

We have no authority to punish or judge others because it is in God’s hand. So we should obviously forgive others as long as they seek forgiveness.

Matthew 18:21-22 “Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.”

What Does Jesus Say About Forgiving Others

The fundamental teaching of Jesus is based upon forgiving others as the Lord forgives us so we are no longer to hold others’ wrongdoings. Jesus makes us humble and if we walk in his ways which gives us the new heart where we should show God’s amazing grace upon mankind by forgiving others.

In Jesus, we come to know the works of sin that actually lead us to commit sins. So when our brothers and sisters do anything wrong to us, at that time we must handle it with the wisdom of Jesus.

If we behave with them according to the flesh then we will do a great mistake. As we know how to overcome this world by the power of God that he has given us and we can implement that by forgiving others.

Bible says to forgive others in order to be blessed. God is looking at our hearts and we must walk according to the newness of our life. Jesus has told us to forgive others and it will make one worthy to stand before the Lord.
