This verse directly informs us that we are all sinners, we cannot claim ourselves righteous. Before we go into details let us know who we are and why we are here on this earth. The Bible says that we are created by the image of God (Genesis 1:26) to live with him.
Before creating man, the Lord created all other animals, sun, moon, fish so that man can rule over them.
The Lord created Adam who was the first man and from his rib, God created the first woman called Eve. They lived in the garden of Eden where God used to visit them and there was an intimate relationship between God and man.
God gave them the freedom to eat fruit from every tree except one tree that was a Tree of Knowledge. But the serpent tempted Eve to eat the fruit from that tree and she ate, after which she asked Adam to eat.
Thus, they broke the law of the Lord and they allowed sin to enter into the human race. Through their disobedience sin entered into the world and everyone is now affected by that sin.
What Does It Mean By All Have Sinned
We are the descendants of Adam so we are still bearing the sinful nature in us. We have inherited the sinful nature since our birth, even when we were in our mother’s womb we obtained it.
Sinful nature forces us to commit sin. None like to do evil acts but the sin makes us even when we are not willing.
We cannot say that we didn’t commit a sin. If we say so then we shall lie about that. Because of our sin, we are away from the presence of God.
The Lord is Holy and he does not want to lose his standard of holiness by mingling with us. He wants us to wash away ourselves from the sin that we have done due to our sinful nature.
We cannot remove our sins by our righteous works. We need the holy blood to get redemption from our sins. But everyone is sinners and no human being can help us to get delivered from sin.
The word of God says that the wages of sin are death (Romans 6:23). We need to be free from our sins. We need a savior who can help us to deliver the sin from us.

Fall Short Of The Glory Of God
Because of the sin, we are separated from the Lord. People are trying to get connected with the Lord in various ways but they cannot see the face of the Lord when God himself pulls the veil from man’s face.
We are living in a world where Satan is ruling the earth. When the Lord found Adam and Eve disobeyed him, he cursed this earth.
As a result of that people are committing sin and they do not have fear of God in their hearts. Many are going astray and losing their souls due to the sin that they have been doing.
But God is merciful towards his children. To deliver this world from his wrath he sent Jesus on this earth so that everyone will be saved by believing him as their savior.
Jesus is the only way that connects everyone with God who dwells in heaven. The relationship between man and God was broken due to Adam’s disobedience in the garden of Eden and the broken relationship now is connected with the life of Jesus at Calvary.
Though we have sinned against God, still we have the hope to get everlasting life only by receiving Jesus in our lives.
