Romans 12:1 encourages every Christian to walk with Jesus Christ as He has separated them from the world by showing the way that leads to life. Paul pleaded with his Christian brothers and sisters to comprehend what Jesus had done so that they may give their bodies to the Lord as acceptable.
Prior to meeting Jesus, Paul had been a persecutor of Christians. However, after meeting Jesus, he recognized that Jesus is the only living God who beat death by his resurrection and that everyone must believe in him in order to receive eternal life.
When it came to the law, Paul was a Pharisee from the Benjamin tribe. For the sake of Christ, he had to go through a lot. But, through the resurrection, he realized that everything he had lost in this life will be made up for in Christ.
He also asserted that everything in the world is worthless in comparison to Jesus’ righteousness. He realized that if he could obtain Jesus, he would be a prosperous man in this world. He abandoned everything and went out to preach the gospel in order for the world to receive real-life, which can only be found in Jesus alone.
Present Your Body As A Living Sacrifice
Paul instructs us to offer our bodies to the Lord as living sacrifices. Jews used to sacrifice animals to the Lord in order to get pardon and blessings in the Old Testament. Those offerings, however, had no value in the sight of the Lord during the grace period.
Believers must come to God with a repentant heart in order to develop a relationship with Him. Every action they take should bring glory to God. Jesus also states that his disciples would be lights in the world and that people will come to know him by looking at them.
Idolatry, sorcery, anger, quarrels, jealousies, outbursts of fury, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, jealousy, murders, and drunkenness are examples of fleshly works (Galatians 5:20-21). Such acts should be avoided by God’s children, and they should live a life that pleases Him.
However, Jesus’ knowledge distinguishes believers from these works. Believing and embracing Jesus means being set free from sin and empowered to walk in the Lord’s righteousness.
Giving up sinful behavior permits believers to carry out God’s will. Though quitting everything all of a sudden is difficult, it is possible with God’s support. Christians can present their bodies as a living sacrifice to God by abstaining from such sinful acts.
Present Your Bodies Holy To The Lord
Paul warns his readers in his message to live a holy life, as the Lord himself does. The Lord expects his children to lead holy lives that are free of sin. God’s children should be distinct from the children of the world.
The Israelites were God’s chosen people in the Old Testament, as they were separated from the other nations by the laws. During this grace period, Jesus purchased his disciples with his precious blood so that they could live a holy life and be saved.
The Bible instructs us to live according to Jesus’ teachings since he is aware of our flaws. Jesus also tells his disciples that they should learn from him since he is holy.
God’s children must understand that they are unique individuals in the eyes of the Lord. They should refrain from engaging in acts that are considered unholy. According to the Bible, we shall all die once, and then we will appear before the Lord for judgment (Hebrews 9:27).
Nothing but the presence of the Lord can satisfy us in this life. Only if we obey the Lord and live according to his will we are able to enjoy our lives on this planet. We must present ourselves holy before the Lord in order to receive the touch of the Almighty God.
Present Your Bodies Acceptable To God
Our bodies come from our parents, and our souls come from the Lord. Our bodies decompose into dust after death, while our souls ascend to the heavens. Our spirits and bodies are beyond our control.
Those who do not know Jesus believe they own their bodies, but the truth is that we are worthless. Everything belongs to the Lord, and we have a conscience through which we can make decisions about what to do and what not to do.
The Bible warns us to be careful with our physical bodies because we will be held accountable to God after we die. We must perform deeds that will bring glory to God and his honor. We should not do any sins that will cause us to be cast into the lake of fire.
Paul urged his audience to refrain from doing anything that could bring shame to God’s name. The world can see Jesus through his disciples’ life and activities. At the judgment, everyone will receive their recompense, thus it is critical to satisfying God by presenting his body as acceptable to the Lord.
Which Is Your Reasonable Service
Paul informs us that we must repay the Lord because he has made such a big sacrifice for us. Because Jesus is God, he suffered for us by submitting himself to the hands of sinful men in order to save us.
According to the Bible, we are all sinners, no one can claim to be righteous, and we all fall short of God’s glory (Romans 3:23). Our good works will not get us into heaven. Our sins must be washed away by the blood of a spotless man. Because, according to the Bible, the penalty for sin is death (Romans 6:23).
To provide us everlasting life By shedding his blood on the cross, Jesus came down to this earth. For the sake of us, he gave his life. So that his blood might purify us. He bore our sins on the cross in order to make us righteous in God’s eyes. In fact, Christ died in our midst.
We must not overlook his self-sacrifice, which provides us with grace. We are rescued by his grace, according to the Bible (Ephesians 2:5). Jesus has done his part to save us from God’s wrath; now it is up to us to conduct lives that will help us satisfy God.
