God has created us wonderfully and he has planned something for us. Our human body needs rest and sleep so our brain can work smoothly. But we should also remember that we have so many things to do in order to keep our body healthy and to do all the remaining work which are extremely important for us.
Our life on this earth for a limited period of time and we will not live here forever. Jesus also reminded his disciples to be careful because the final days are coming soon. We all will be transformed and receive a new body where we will live forever, some will be in heaven and some will be in hell.
The life that we are spending here must be given utmost care because we have some purpose to live here which is obeying the will of God by walking in his words.
Proverbs 24:33-34 “Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.”
Psalm 127:2 “It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.”
Proverbs 19:15 “Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger.”
Proverbs 6:6-11 “Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest. How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep? Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man.”
We must know who we are and what we should do in order to enter our final place. If we spend too much time sleeping it will lead us toward destruction. When we read the Bible we find how God dealt with people and he also had chosen people who were hard-working and dedicated to their works.
God called Moses when he was busy. Now we must give our best to God instead of sleeping too much which is exactly wasting the valuable time that we get from the Lord.
Ephesians 5:16 “Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”
Proverbs 23:20-21 “Be not among winebibbers; among riotous eaters of flesh: For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.”
Ecclesiastes 5:12 “The sleep of a labouring man is sweet, whether he eat little or much: but the abundance of the rich will not suffer him to sleep.”
Matthew 26:45 “Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.”
Proverbs 20:13 “Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty; open thine eyes, and thou shalt be satisfied with bread.”
The Bible tells us that our average lifespan is 70 years and we get a huge time to do all our work. But we must be careful concerning spending our time which will never come back in our life.
The Lord says he will put us into judgment according to the works that we have been doing in our life.
We the believers must encourage each other so we can give our best time and effort for the upliftment of God’s Kingdom which is to be our primary goal.
