Reflections on the Divine Gift of Air in Scripture

In the sacred texts of the Bible, there are profound verses that speak directly to the essence of our existence and our intimate connection with the divine, especially concerning the air we breathe.

This life-giving element, so often taken for granted, is beautifully encapsulated in several key verses from the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible.

Bible Verses About Air We Breathe

Let’s look at a few verses

Genesis 2:7 tells us, “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” Here, the act of breathing is more than a biological function; it’s a divine intervention, a moment where life itself is bestowed upon man.

In Job 33:4, we find a similar sentiment: “The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.” This verse speaks to the intimate relationship between the Creator and the created, emphasizing that our very life force is a gift from the Almighty.

Psalm 104:29-30 further deepens this understanding: “Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust. Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth.” These verses poetically describe the cycle of life and death, attributing the ebb and flow of life to the divine will.

In our daily lives, amidst the hustle and bustle, it’s easy to overlook the simple act of breathing. Yet, these verses remind us of the sacredness in every breath we take. They invite us to appreciate the miraculous nature of life and the spiritual connection we share with the divine.

As we inhale and exhale, let us remember these words and carry with us a sense of gratitude for this divine gift – the air we breathe, the life we live.

Here is A Great New Way to Read Your Bible!

A new Bible reading program has been released which approaches the Bible in a new and unique way than most people are used to. It offers the reader an opportunity to read all of the way through the Bible – to do it chronologically – and to do it in just a year! For people who have never done that, which includes the vast majority of people, it offers them a chance to stand out in their peer groups, and to satisfy their deep desire to please the God they serve.

It is a known fact that:

Less than 10% of all Christians have ever read the Bible all of the way through. Many have never even considered doing it, or thought it was not attainable for them.

This is a refreshing approach to the Bible. It may become the standard for this way of approaching the Bible.
